A small recap on some highlight events in the Sager home.
I have been wanting to take my kids out for a shoot altogether for a while now, and finally had the chance to do it. We went downtown in our snazzy get up to have some fun taking photos. Unfortunately after all of my troubles of finding the place downtown, finding a parking space, and then walking around with 6 children alone trying to keep them all close....I brought my very small 1GB memory card. Darn it!!! We got as many as we could with that puny card (I was shooting in RAW which takes up a ton of space on a card).
Then we went home to grab my proper memory card and stayed in town to get some more shots.

I quickly edited them and went off to print them and laminate some for Grant for Fathers Day. He always talks about the kids at work, so I thought it would be nice for him to be able to show them off. This is what I made:

The kids all made him cards, poems, drawings and we gave him a little shopping spree. Here was our little table set up.

The donut tower was in place of a cake. After church, we took Grant to Big Hill Springs Park for a picnic and hike. We invited the Sherlocks to come along since there was so much food.

It was a gorgeous fun day!
This week has been full of finishing things off. Catcher had his last day of Kindergarten on Tuesday. I can't believe Maiya is going into Kindergarten next year and I will only have one more child left to put in school. We celebrated by taking him swimming on Wednesday. Wednesday night was Damian's last gymnastics class for the session. He passed another level and will be in level 5 in the fall. Way to go Damian!
(These pics were taken today when I brought the gym mats outside for the kids to play on)

McKenna also had her Grade 4 farewell on Thursday. Next year is middle school for her.
I've had some shoots going on, and lots of people booking, so I am happy about that. I love doing it. The kids have been enjoying the gorgeous weather this weekend with lots of outdoor play. This morning I took Damian to try out a class on Parkour. I think it's something he would love (kind of like street stunts). He had a lot of fun, but it is kind of far and our weekends book up quickly, so if he wants to keep going we will try to when we can. I enjoyed watching them.
Summer doesn't officially start until Monday after school. Odd that they are off for the weekend and go back for just one day...well at least they will probably just be doing something fun and it will be one less day of them telling me they are bored, haha! (Although, I warned them that if they ever came to me whining that they were bored or there was nothing to do...I have a LIST. Some fun chores or some fun school work..so mean I know! I have planned some fun activities for them too though, so I'm not all mean...) Grants been working on filling in some really dead spots on the grass. It's not going to look perfect because the whole neighbourhood plays on our lawn, but it'll help!

Another busy weekend full of family events. After a VERY blah, dull grey rainy week..it was a welcome reprieve. The nice weather began on Friday (good timing for us all to enjoy it). The kids had a movie night together while Grant and I went out for our friend, Tylers, birthday. We went to "Japanese Village" in downtown Calgary. What a fun and unique experience. The chef did our whole meal up for us right in front of us and treated it like a show (flipping spatulas, arranging sprouts into a heart shape, juggling wooden things and making a hige blaze of fire) So fun to watch and the food was delicious.
Saturday was gorgeous as well. I went garage saling in the morning. Not too many great garage sales, but I found one good thing I was looking for. I had wanted to buy a small tv stand for the tv we have downstairs to use for videogames only. I didn't want to spend much, and ended up finding a tv stand in good condition for $5. In the afternoon, we went to Nose Creek Park for my niece, Elles, birthday.
There happened to be a festival going on there at the same time, so we had some bands playing music while we were there which added to the party ambiance. Charity had planned some fun games for the kids to play (sack races, tug o war and a scavenger hunt). It was a gorgeous day to be outside together with the kids all playing and having fun. After the party I took the kids home, and Meg worked on Kaitlyns hair and I left for a photoshoot at Big Hill Springs. Meg did such a wonderful job on Kaitlyns hair. I really liked it. It looks a lot lighter and more fresh for the summer. Not anything too drastic, but just a nice simple change. Just a few layers, a side bang and a colour freshen up.
Sunday (today) we went into Calgary for church to listen to my brother, Seths, homecoming talk. He did a great job! We all went over to my Mom and Dads house afterwards for a family get together. It was lots of fun, good company and great food. I am so thankful for the change in the weather, so I could enjoy a wonderful weekend.

A few photos from the weekend!
We had friends come play over on Saturday. Presley played at our house. Damian went out with Drayton to "Peters" for lunch along with farmers markets. Catcher had Ethan come over to play.

Kaitlyn and McKenna had slept over at their friend, Isabella's, house on Friday night, so she came over to hang out for the day. They walked down to Mac's a bought "Frosters" and went to the park together.

I babysat for Alex and Josh at night so they could go to the mall together without kids. Their kids were Soooo easy to put to bed. It was unbelievable. I did not take this picture of Josh and Alex Saturday night, but it was a recent shoot I had done for them and I LOVE this pic of them together.

Today we got up early to go to our nephew, Beau's, baby blessing. He is such a cutie, and was so good!

Afterwards we went to a park to have a picnic with all of the family. We decided to take pictures of all of the siblings since Seth just got back from his mission and Joshua will be moving soon. Here is my favourite sibling picture of the day.

Lots of family things going on these days!
