Wednesday they all stuck around and played for the day. Going to the parks, and just hanging out. I had guitar lessons in the evening. I am just loving taking the lessons. They are only half an hour once a week, but I feel that I learn so much in that half hour. Thursday was Canada Day. We had a jam packed day full of fun. We went to the Canada Day Parade first thing. We reserved our seating with friends early so we could get the spot we wanted.
After the parade, we all headed over to Big Hill Springs for a picnic together. It was pretty chilly for July, but warmed up a while into it.
We went home and Grant and Caleb played video games together, the kids played and Kaitlyn and I went to the mall to get some shopping in. She has been growing out of everything. She needed some summer clothing. As soon as we got back from shopping, we packed all of the kids in the van to head over to the Sherlocks house for a bonfire and marshmallow roast.
Yummy! I love the taste of roasted marshmallows, and the kids of course had a blast with their cousins.
We hung around visiting until it was time to leave for the fireworks. Everyone put on tons of repellant. The mosquitos were in full force. We decided to set up our chairs at the school instead of across the street at the park. It wasn't crowded and there was parking. The kids played frisbee with Grant and played at the school park. The fireworks were beautiful but started extremely late and didn't last very long. Needless to say, the kids went to sleep very easily that night.
Friday morning I headed off to a wedding shoot. Grant spent the day with the kids. They all went to go see "Avatar: The Last Airbender" They all really enjoyed it.
Today I went out yard saling in the morning (a favourite past time) Found a bunch of great deals.
What an exhausting, but fun week. It seems like us Albertans only get such a small amount of nice weather that we have to pack in as much as we can while the weather is in our favour.
